OUR HISTORY
Renewed Life Community Church was founded by E. Joshua Sims in 2001. It would later become Renewed Life Church (RLC) of Long Beach, California on Mothers’ Day of 2013 with a membership awaiting its marching orders.
RLC is an independent, non-denominational Bible teaching and Bible believing church.
The first service was held on July 7, 2013 leaving standing room only. The sermon was entitled “Becoming a City of Refuge,” which highlighted the church’s purpose and mission. The first baptism would follow three months later during an evening service with 15 candidates. In November 2013, RLC’s first all-day orientation class was facilitated by Pastor Sims for the entire membership, covering subjects from his Essentials of the Faith booklet. Over 120 attended.
Since its inception, RLC has been committed to expositional preaching (verse-by-verse), which explains what the Bible means by what it says. The local assembly gathers corporately to worship with a mission to “bring in” the lost, “build up” one another, and “branch out” to witness to the world.

To bring in people of our community into a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ through the witness of the church in the power of the Spirit.
To build up and edify with Truth those who have trusted Christ into mature
Christians to reflect their Savior in word and lifestyle.
To branch out its members to minister to one another and to reach the world starting with our own community.
OUR VISION
Our vision is the same as for every gospel congregation throughout time and around the world. As those who have been redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ, we want to bring him glory. The main way we do that is through our life together as a church, as this gospel community demonstrates the love of Jesus through our love for each other (John 13:35). We gather together to sing his praises, offer our prayers, hear his Word, and care for one another. And we serve side by side to see Jesus worshipped as the true King both here in Long Beach and to the ends of the earth.
We cannot be sure what life in the future will bring for us as a church any more than we know what tomorrow will bring for us as individuals. We are nonetheless delighted at the spiritual health God has cultivated here and are thankful that He continues to bring committed believers into our fold. It is a blessing to serve God in the ministry of Renewed Life Church with these brothers and sisters of all ages, backgrounds, and occupations.
